EMOTIONAL ABUSE SUPPORT – 28 SEPTEMBER 2022

For those of you out there experiencing these emotions, you are not alone.

This behavior is called gas-lighting. Read up more about it and you will find you are definitely not alone and definitely not crazy.

It is not your fault. Believe that.

It shows what a caring, strong person you are. Remember that.

If you can, get out!

If you can’t, and sometimes you can’t, try to let these behaviors flow over you. Say “What ever” with a wave of your hand. Not easy I know. You self-guilt yourself that you have failed. You haven’t. Don’t blame yourself if you can’t get out. There are situations which will prevent you from doing so. You are not a failure if you don’t get out.

Remember- “IT IS NOT YOU. IT IS NOT YOUR FAULT. IT IS NOT BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT STRONG ENOUGH. YOU HAVE NOT FAILED”.

You can’t change anybody else. The only person you can change is YOU and don’t try to change yourself to be what they want. It will never, ever work. They will always find something else you need to change and you will lose yourself along the way. Major Depression may set in. Don’t blame yourself for that either. You may feel suicidal, just reach out. There is always a way out. Somebody else might be able to help shine that light you need. Just try to hang onto that little shred of you which is left and take a minute step forward and celebrate your win to reclaim yourself. Big steps are not needed. Those minute ones are enough that is needed to help you get stronger.

So let it go…. Let them go…
